A Second Line

Have you ever been to a New Orleans wedding? Gah! There is truly nothing like it. This city is the world capital of “having a good time,” and the weddings here are cut from the exact same cloth. New Orleans has this incredible duality: a “laissez-faire” slowness that makes you want to linger, mixed with a vibrant, neon energy that keeps you on your feet.

Walking through the streets to capture Allie and Trip, I was struck by how much the city feels like a living, breathing guest at the wedding. Time slows down and speeds up simultaneously. One minute you’re soaking in a quiet moment in a hidden courtyard, and the next, you’re swept up in the whirlwind of a celebration.
